⚠️Amazon No Longer Offers FBA Prep Services (Effective Jan 1, 2026)

On January 1, 2026, Amazon officially ended all FBA prep services in the U.S., including FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bubble wrapping, and bundling (Amazon Seller Central Policy G201023020). Sellers are now fully responsible for ensuring inventory meets Amazon’s strict packaging and labeling requirements before shipment — and critically, Amazon will not reimburse for damaged or lost inventory that wasn’t properly prepped. This means prep errors don’t just cause delays — they cost you money. Amazon’s standards leave no room for error: improperly prepped products will be rejected, delayed, or left ineligible for reimbursement. JDS Prime Logistics helps sellers avoid costly mistakes by preparing inventory to meet FBA compliance standards before it ever reaches Amazon fulfillment centers.

**Critical Dates:**

– July 28, 2025 — Amazon announced prep services would end

– December 31, 2025 — Last day to create shipments eligible for Amazon prep

– January 1, 2026 — All FBA prep services officially discontinued

– Today — Every shipment must arrive fully prepped or risk rejection and loss of reimbursement eligibility

Critical consequence you need to understand:

Starting January 1, 2026, if your shipment arrives at Amazon without proper prep, it won’t just be rejected or delayed — **you will lose your reimbursement eligibility if items are damaged or lost.** This means prep mistakes can cost you both inventory AND money.

What this means for
your business:

– You’re responsible for 100% prep compliance before shipment creation– Non-compliant shipments will be rejected or returned at your expense– Improperly prepped inventory that’s damaged or lost is NOT eligible for Amazon reimbursement– One prep error can kill your velocity, hurt your ranking, and cost you thousands in non-reimbursable losses

Grace period:

Shipments created before January 1, 2026 are still eligible for Amazon’s prep services even if they arrive after the deadline. But starting January 1, every new shipment must arrive fully prepped.

Why sellers are switching to JDS Prime Logistics:

Why Trust Us with Your Inventory?

Our team spent 15+ years building and scaling Amazon businesses. We’ve experienced every prep nightmare firsthand — not from a warehouse perspective, but as sellers watching our own money and ranking disappear.

We didn’t build JDS Prime Logistics from warehouse theory or logistics textbooks. We built it from painful, expensive lessons learned with our own inventory and our own money. Every quality checkpoint, verification step, and workflow in our operation exists because we made that mistake ourselves and paid the price.

When you ship inventory to us, you’re working with a team that understands exactly what’s at stake — because we’ve been in your position, dealing with the same pressures, the same tight timelines, and the same fear that one prep error could derail everything.

We’re not guessing what works. We know — because we’ve lived it.

We’ve made these mistakes so you don’t have to:

That $6,000 Labeling Error

Amazon rejected an entire shipment because our 3PL used the wrong barcode format. Two weeks of lost sales during a product launch, plus re-prep fees and re-shipping costs. We missed our velocity window and dropped 15 positions in search ranking.

The Inventory That Vanished

A prep partner “lost” $15,000 worth of inventory with zero documentation. No photos, no tracking, no accountability. We had to eat the entire loss while scrambling to reorder and explaining to customers why we were out of stock.

Compliance Failure That Cost Us $8,000

Our warehouse didn’t stay current with Amazon’s updated poly-bag requirements. The shipment was already at the FC when we got the rejection notice. Amazon charged us for disposal, storage, and removal. We also lost three weeks of sales.

Q4 Disaster

Our prep partner got overwhelmed during the holiday season and sat on our inventory for three weeks. We missed Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and most of December entirely — our biggest revenue opportunity of the year, gone because someone else dropped the ball.

What to Look for in an Amazon Prep Partner

Not all prep centers understand Amazon’s requirements or take accountability for errors. Here’s what to evaluate when choosing a partner:

Financial Accountability
Do they reimburse you if their error causes Amazon to reject your shipment? (We do — it’s in our service agreement)

Former Seller Experience
Do they understand Amazon from a seller’s perspective, not just warehouse operations? (Our team has 15+ years as Amazon sellers)

Compliance Guarantee
Do they guarantee prep meets current Amazon standards, or just “do their best”? (We guarantee compliance and cover costs if we’re wrong)

Fast Turnaround
Can they match or beat Amazon’s former service speed? (We average 48 hours, faster than Amazon offered)

Strategic Location
Do they have facilities positioned to reduce transit time and placement fees? (Our Houston + Edison NJ hubs optimize routing)

Transparent Pricing
Do you know exactly what you’ll pay, or are there hidden fees for “complexity”? (We quote based on your volume — what we quote is what you pay)

Reimbursement Protection
Does their quality control process protect your Amazon reimbursement eligibility? (Our multi-point verification ensures compliance before shipment)

JDS Prime Logistics meets every criterion
because we built this operation after experiencing unreliable prep partners with our own inventory.

Built for
Growing Volume

We’re best suited for established sellers shipping consistent volume — typically 500+ units per month — who value accuracy and compliance over rock-bottom pricing. If you’re shipping sporadically or under 100 units/month, we may not be the right fit. But if you’re scaling and need a partner built for volume, reliability, and Amazon expertise, we’re ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

As of January 1, 2026, Amazon discontinued all in-house prep services including FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bubble wrapping, and bundling (Amazon Seller Central Policy G201023020). Amazon made this change to improve fulfillment center operational efficiency. Sellers now must prep inventory themselves or use third-party FBA prep centers like JDS Prime Logistics.

Starting January 1, 2026, unprepared or non-compliant inventory will be rejected, delayed, or returned at your expense. More importantly, Amazon will not reimburse you for damaged or lost inventory that wasn’t properly prepped before shipment. This can cause stock shortages, lost sales, ranking drops, and significant financial losses.

This is the exact concern we had as sellers, which is why we built JDS Prime Logistics differently. We take full financial responsibility for prep errors (not just operational responsibility), maintain strict inventory accountability with photo documentation, provide real-time visibility into prep status, and guarantee compliance with Amazon’s current standards. Because we were sellers first, we understand that your inventory represents your cash flow, your ranking, and your reputation—we treat it accordingly.

If our error causes a rejection, we re-prep at no cost, cover expedited shipping, and absorb any Amazon penalty fees. This is written into our service agreement. Unlike many prep centers, we take full financial responsibility for our mistakes—not just operational responsibility. We experienced costly prep errors ourselves as sellers, so we built accountability into our operation from day one.

Unplanned Prep Services are Amazon’s penalty-rate prep charges when shipments arrive non-compliant (typically 3-5x normal prep costs). Because we verify compliance through multi-point quality checks before shipment, our clients avoid these fees entirely. In the rare event Amazon charges Unplanned Prep due to our error, we reimburse you for the full amount plus any associated storage or handling fees.

Our turnaround is faster (24-48 hours typical vs. Amazon’s variable timelines), pricing is more transparent and volume-based, and we provide full visibility into prep status with quality control checkpoints. We also ship directly to multiple Amazon fulfillment centers from our Houston and Edison NJ hubs, reducing transit time. Most importantly, our quality control process protects your reimbursement eligibility by ensuring compliance before shipment.

Yes. We provide all the services Amazon discontinued: FNSKU barcode labeling, poly-bagging, bubble wrapping, bundling, carton prep, palletization, and safety labeling — all following Amazon’s exact compliance requirements per Seller Central guidelines. Our team stays updated on Amazon’s evolving prep standards to ensure your inventory passes inspection the first time.

Amazon FBA prep refers to the process of preparing products to meet Amazon’s strict fulfillment requirements before they arrive at an Amazon fulfillment center. This includes labeling, packaging, and compliance checks. Using a professional Amazon FBA prep center helps prevent delays, rejections, and added fees.

Yes. Our FBA prep services are designed for established sellers shipping consistent volume. We focus on repeatable, scalable workflows that support growth without sacrificing accuracy.

Absolutely. As a national Amazon prep center with fulfillment hubs in Houston and New Jersey, we prepare and route inventory for shipments going to multiple Amazon fulfillment centers, following Amazon’s routing and carton requirements.

Every shipment goes through a multi-point verification process: SKU confirmation at receiving, barcode accuracy checks during labeling, packaging compliance review, and final inspection before shipment. Our error rate is under 0.5%, and in the rare event of a mistake, we re-prep at no cost and expedite to minimize delays. Because we experienced costly prep errors ourselves as sellers, we built our workflows to prevent the mistakes that cost us thousands.

Some suppliers offer prep services, but most lack Amazon-specific expertise and make costly compliance mistakes. You’ll need to provide detailed FNSKU labels, packaging instructions, and quality control processes — and you remain 100% responsible for any errors.

Most sellers find that specialized FBA prep centers like JDS Prime are more reliable and cost-effective because we handle Amazon compliance full-time as former sellers ourselves, not as a side service to manufacturing.

If you’re working with a supplier who has proven Amazon prep experience and a track record of zero rejections, it can work. But if this is their first time prepping for Amazon, the risk of costly mistakes is high.
